Protection of Personal Information

ATA Privacy Policy

The Alberta Teachers’ Association (ATA) is committed to protecting the privacy of personal information. Personal information is data that refers distinctively to an individual. Examples of personal information are a person’s name, address, and phone number.  The Alberta Teachers’ Association will use the personal information you provide to conduct its professional and business affairs and will collect, use and disclose the information about you accordingly. To find out more about how the Association ensures the secure collection, storage, and use of your personal information, please refer to the ATA's privacy policy page on its website. For inquires, objections or concerns about how the Personal Information Protection Act applies to your personal information, please refer to our privacy policy on the Alberta Teachers’ Association website or contact the ATA's privacy officer at 780-447-9400 or 1-800-232-7208.

CCTCA Website and Online Payment

The website of the Calgary City Teachers' Convention Association (CCTCA) is hosted on Canadian-based servers owned and operated by Mediashaker.  As an Alberta company, Mediashaker complies with the same provincial and federal personal information and privacy protection legislation as the ATA and CCTCA.  You can view Mediashaker's privacy policy on its website.

Other Online Services (Facebook, Twitter)

The CCTCA may use a variety of service providers to communicate with its members, share convention program information, and manage registration or ticketing for certain sessions and events. A CCTCA member who wishes to use any of these services will often have to sign-up for a unique account and are advised to pay attention to the privacy protection and terms of use information they are asked to consent to during the registration process.  Personal data collected through these services may be stored on servers outside of Canada in jurisdictions where it could be accessed by the courts, law enforcement, and national security authorities.  By creating an account or using any of these online services, CCTCA members consent to the collection of information they provide to the service providers in accordance with their terms of use agreements.
